The Quest to Publish 4 Books in 2025

Some people know exactly what they want and how they’re going to get it. Then they go get it, in like, a minute. [Or at least it feels that way]

Sadly, I’m not one of those people. It took me 10 years to learn how to juggle my schedule, become more productive, and write consistently so that I could publish 4 books a year.

To be fair, I’ve always had pretty large goals, they just lacked focus, but not direction.

When I wanted to work for a publishing house, but also write and release my own books, I created my plan. Time management and boundaries were instated. Somehow, in the mix of everything, I was able to help authors narrate and get their audiobooks on audible.

Having a lot of ideas without a plan is insanity! The day to day tasks are important. Sometimes I couldn’t see which one came first, how they worked together, or IF they worked at all.

Needless to say, when it came to actually accomplishing my goals, I powered through but couldn’t accomplish everything.

Now I start small. Pick one tiny milestone and reach it, that's all. Get just one simple thing behind me so there’s less ahead of me.

MORE BEHIND ME
LESS IN FRONT OF ME

Everyone talks about mantras... that's mine! [For the next week at least!]

Even if I’m super confused in the moment, my goal is to put that thing in my rearview mirror so I can see things more clearly. Because once I do it, I learn from the hindsight. So now I take into account this "sample testing" in new things.

This isn't a get more done faster system. It's about getting more done efficiently. Faster isn't fast. Efficient is the destroyer of mistakes. But really, I make a lot of mistakes. I learn and grow from them.

Things change. You will change…your goals will change…and yes, even 3 months from now your ideas of things will change.

When you get to mile 9, I can't promise you mile 10 will be crystal clear, but it's more than likely it will be.

The Year Represented by Images

My wonderful husband is a bag of sand sitting on my mantle along with my beautiful Husky. Ty's paw print is next to the velvet bag that holds him and keeps Donald company. I took my mom to the Inner Space Cavern and my niece's (her granddaughter's) place for her birthday. My dad wanted to go to a fancy restaurant─so we went to celebrate his milestone birthday in Waco. I released "To Tame a Dragon" and set to release "A Blind Curve" for 2025. Lacey and Mimi still dictate my life. And I got to go to the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest experience again. This time without Donald. I went to horse shows with my mom and she dreams of showing with Getty.

That's about the gest of my 2024. People can say their year of the wood dragon sucked, but I say it was a year of change and tears. I still wish everyone a Merry New Year!

Until next time...
...happy reading!
